Wheel Spacers
#1
Hi
I am looking for some advice regarding rims. I have an MY03 STI and have a set of cheap TSW EVO R rims that bought for my MY01 WRX that I am now using for track days on the STI.
The rims would not initially clear the Brembo calipers, my local tyre shop supplied me a set of 6mm spacers to fit on before fitting the front rims. They now clear the calipers without any problems.
I have however noticed that the rear end seems to have become very loose, to the extent that I was sideways on a high speed tightening corner at Phakisa Freeway for about 100 meters .
Is this a result of the increased track at the front vs the back or is it perhaps as a result of the spacers changing the effective offset of the rims?
Can I cure this by fitting the spacers to the rear rims as well?
The tyres do not touch the wheel arches, I am not sure of the standard off set
Regards
