Hello,
Have just fitted Yokohama AVS's in 215x45x17 to my MY95 WRX. In the dry they seem to be pretty grippy. Haven't tried them in the wet yet but they were recommended by a friend who owns Guildford Tyre Services. They were given to him by Yokohama to try out on his Scoob and despite having been disappointed before by Yokohama's, he says they are really good in both wet and dry conditions.
I have heard other people comment on this board that they're cr@p (don't know if they were talking about the AVS's though).

If its a classic scoob (pre 2001) then try 215/40/17 as there is a lot more to choose from inc toyo, bridgestone, goodyear, yokohoma, michelin, pirelli etc.
Toyo T1-S being the budget tyre of choice on here and Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's being the all round favourite but at around £100 a tyre.
Simon.
