Help required. Brake Vibration at high speed
#1
Just fitted some brand new Black Diamond grooved (not drilled) disks to my MY01, along with some new Mintex pads.
I have now dome 300 miles, and the pedal feel is great, aslo stopping below 90Mph is fantastic .. However ..
When I get above 90ish the pedal really vibrates !! especially from 140Mph, I had to really hold the sterring wheel firmly.
Then back at sensible speeds, no problem again !!
Any ideas anyone ?
Olly.

There are several possibilities AFAIAA:
- your brakes are not bedded in properly yet
- pad material has transferred unevenly on the disc and causes vibration at higher speeds and not at lower speeds because the amount of pad meterial transferred does not show at slower disc rotation speeds because there is not enough material on the disc for it to show at lower speeds
- your discs are warped
- your new discs are still straight but your previous discs were warped and slightly warped your hubs, causing the present set of discs to get warped as you use them
- your discs are not engineered / manufactured to sufficient specifications (low tolerances) and are out from the factory
- you did not tighten the wheel nuts sufficiently, causing vibration at higher speed. (Tighten slightly more than factory spec., preferably with higher tensile strength studs)
- you have worn bushes / a bad geometry setup etc (less likely I'd guess)
