I have had to make a few emergence stops recently whilst doing 170/180 km/h.

Every time the car violently pulls to the left and twice almost lost the car.

As it pulls to the left assume the left side brakes work better than the right side.

It's a '96 WRX on which I recently upgraded the front brakes with bigger discs and 4 calliper brakes, braided brake hoses on all 4 wheels and fresh brake fluid dot 4.

Any suggestions where to start, car has done 130,000 km and the wheel barings have never been changed and are 'humming' a bit, could that contribute to the problem?

Hope you guys can help because this is getting dangerous.

Tnks

I would check the brakes first, see if there's a leak on the right side (hose not 100% tight?, fluid missing? etc.), then, if the problem is still there, check the alignment / geometry, and finally if necessary change the bearings or hubs and see what happens and go from there. Your car is relatively old and used it particular weather conditions: maybe the suspension bushes need replacing?

Also maybe change the fluid in case there are air bubbles in it somewhere or check the brake proportioning device.
