I'm no engineer, but even the WRX Sti only has 2-pots at the rear, must be for a good reason I presume.

Since the rear brakes do so little work (something like 15% of braking effort), I'd be surprised if they really need an upgrade. You don't want too-powerful rear brakes, or your rear wheels will lock up under heavy braking.

No problem .

If you want a second opinion, (and probably a better informed one, too!) then phone one of the well-known Scooby tuning shops and ask them their opinion. i.e. the likes or Graham Goode Racing / ScoobySport / TSL / Power Engineering - and ask.

I'd be surprised if anyone of them strongly advises a rear-brake upgrade. There's no well-known 'rear brake kits' as there are for the front brakes. The only time I imagine you'd need to boost the rear braking ability is when your car is a tarmac-munching trackday monster, with slick tyres, 6-pot/330mm AP-Racing brakes on the front and aftermarket coilover suspension! That rules out most of us...

Wink

Have just bought AP330 Kit for front and thats why I wanted to know about the rears cos the OE are now 'spare' I know it sounds a bit daft but I thought it would balance the look of the car too cos the AP calipers are BIG !

Why worry about the rear discs looking smaller? Tarmac Impreza WRC cars run big 'uns on the front, along with gravel size brakes on the rear. Thus, your car looks authentic, not weird

You can't put them in anyway, the mounting points are different. But if you do figure a way to put them on, you can always put a proportioning valve in to control the rears.
