Thumbs up

To be honest I went down this route and I wasn't satisfied with "my" results. I rubbed the scuff down on my previous MY99 then painted over the area with aluminium paint. I didn't like the result. I now have a MY02 and if I am careless enough to kerb another alloy again I will get a professional job done. Try Chips away or similar, look in your Yellow Pages

dont use the aluminium paint, its horrible!!

try a proper car colour, ford moon dust silver, i used volkwagon star silver (i think) on a set of my wheels

a wheel is just the same as a body pannel, just repair it like u would a scratch on a back quarter etc etc

ive done loads of sets of wheels

check this
this is the last set i did, unfortuanly u cant see the kerb marks very well as this foto was of the best wheel out of the lot

rubbed down with wet and dry to the metal, deep kerbs fiulled with hard fibreglass and skimmed with a good filler, primed up and flatted back, then re painted in vuaxhall glacier white

"aluminium" paint is horrible
use a proper car body pannel, paint

dont use cheap laquer tho, i can recomend the halfords laquer, it tends not to go yellow like the crap u get from most car shops

dohh big pics lol

forgot about the size

when i change my alloys (as soon as the tyres wear out) i will be respraying my standerd alloys anthracite type grey, (i hear rover hurricane grey is a nice version)

then im gonna use them for trackdays/ strip days etc etc

i used to work in a bodyshop, one of the lads got a free set of 16" scorpio chrome rims from the parts department as there was a problem with the chrome plating and it was peeling off, he sanded them all down and they were resprayed moondust silver, looked perfect

**** me!! the results on the OZ wheels are stunning!!!
Every single wheel on my MY00 was pretty badly kerbed by the previous owner. The rest of the car was fine (bar the odd dint), but the alloys are in **** state (are you reading this, Mr Fox of N Wales?? Shame on you)
I want to get them re-furbed. anyone know of someone that can do this in the north west area?

Cheers

Kev

after heading to halfords and buying the repair kit, i have proceeded to make it look 10 times worst

followed their instructions (after i managed to stick my fingers together because i didnt put on the gloves), goddamn spray went everywhere over the remaining alloys.

Anyone reccomend a good wheel repair center in hertfordshire.

Also on a side note, how much should I expect to pay to repair this cockup ?
