What bigger tyre for STi type UK - old 18s to go

Hi all,
What alternatives are there to the Prodrive 225x40 on 18" (I think they are) for the above. Can you run any more width on 18s or 19s & on what alloys that will fit round the front brakes of the STi?
I note comments on other threads about Scoobyworld so I'll have a look there but any idea what my old Radius silver multispoke 225x35 18s with PZeros in excellent nick would be worth (two with lots of tread two less - only used in the summer). I'm hoping for enough to pay for new alloys 'cos I'll wear out a set of boots anyway before swapping so will need new rubber at some point.
