Mods could you leave in Gen Section utill i get some advice please
Hi All'
Had a 60,000 mile service at the dealer December ( Yeah the big one) Anyway while cleaning the car Sunday noticed the front brake pads where well worn 2 mil.I have only covered 4K since the last service, 2 questions 1) how long have i got before i need to get the pads replaced 2)should this have be spotted on the last service.by the way i don't drive like a mad man, just every day normal driving.

2mm pad material left? Get 'em changed ASAP.

I had about 3-4mm left on mine, and I changed them (well I watched them being changed ) as I was uncomfotable doing the run to Santa Pod yesterday without fresh pads

Now they have bedded in, they are good

I would suggest getting them changed asap

You'll prolly get another couple of thousand out of them but it's not really worth it, they'll overheat quicker and fade n stuff, brakes aren't worth messing with so I'd suggest a new set too

Re the service, it's difficult to say how long pads will last, it depends on the roads you drive and your driving style, how the car is loaded....... they were more than likely fine at the service

1 - Safety in mind, then not long. Better safe than sorry IMO
2 - Usually a dealer would point sommat like that if they thought there was a problem. I don't think 4k will have used that much pad so i'm suprised they didn'

Edited to add, when i say "not long", i'm talking 3-4 months tops.
