Front brake pads
Have a MY99 UK spec turbo, got a price of £115+vat for both front pads to be replaced, that includes fitting. But these are standards, can anyone recommend any performance pads which dont cost to much more than this. cheers peeps.
check out www.as-performance.co.uk
the guys are cool, will help you with choice, they have every good brake pad brand out there and are friendly as well. They ship the stuff worldwide I think.
Edited to fix the link

also try www.godspeedbrakes.com
I got some drilled and grooved discs and greenstuff pads off them last week for about £190 inc p&p. The pads were about £70 I think.
Took me about an hour to do both sides.
Have fun!

Sorry Claudius but I disagree
However, I appreciate you are entitled to your opinion.
I have used Mintex 1144s and 1155s over thousands of track miles. a bit dusty maybe, a bit noisy possibly, but wear better than the ferodos (although i love them too) and they're a cracking pad.
not to be confused with the 'standard' montex pads you can buy from halfords though, which i have found to be marginally worse than the chocolate

Mintec are good performers, but the squeal like a pig and far too dusty. Some of us would rather live with a bit more pad wear than turn heads everytime I dare too even look at the brake pedal
PPP, did you speak to Alyn at www.as-performance.co.uk ? He knows everything and more about brake pads and will get you the best pad for your application and the prices are very good, too.
You need to email or telephone, though, the web site is still in its early stages. I heard of noise and cracking problems with Mintex; talk to a specialist before you end up with something you dont want.

yep have emailed him, prices are good, jus thinkin if i should get mintex 1144 or 1155, wont ever be doing track days, jus normal driving, with a bit of heavy use thrown in. Got original discs which i aint changing until i have to.
I'd also say DS2500, Mintex are so much noisier for lesser performance, it would be a shame. Ask Alyn about the friction coefficients and temperature ranges, he knows it all
and hopefully will confirm what I said
