Question

I had a very scary moment yesterday on a fast steep decent and think it might be a good time to think about brake upgrades

I have a Classic Sport (reg'd Feb 2000 - V plate) which is running on the standard 6 Spoke 15" rims. Firstly, I would like to have confirmation that this model came with two pots (as opposed to the older Sports having one pots).

Secondly, what upgrades are there for a Sport? Are braided hose kits worth it? does changing the discs (and pads at same time I suppose) mean I would have to get at least 16" (if not 17") wheels?

Finally, what kind of costs are we talking? (I don't ask much do I )

Cheers, Jon

Jon I reckon you should go for four pots. You should always fit new pads with new discs. You will have to change wheels to at least 16" (Dave Watling may have a set of standard 16's for sale)or you could buy some group n 15" if you wanted to stay small
Braided hoses would make a big difference as well. Like everything else, its a matter of how far you want to go.

Any ball park figures on four pot conversion for a Sport? (can't believe Subaru put Drums on a 2litre car what with it's rally heritage and everything...who did they think would buy them )

For a set of four pots, discs and pads you should be looking at between £275-£400, depending on who's selling and what condition they're in.
