Unhappy

I recently bought a Godspeed 308mm brake kit and I'm having some trouble getting them to fit correctly.

The problem I have is the Mintex 1144 brake pads (incidently these are from a 1980-82 Lotus Elite) rub on the inner hub of the disc. The holding pins and springs fit okay although the quality of the springs are a bit sus. I've tried moving the caliper away from the disc but the pads still sit on the hub of the disc.

I'm not wanting to start drilling out holes, this kit cost over 500 quid. Anyone got some ideas or some things to check cos I may be making some stupid mistake.

Cheers
Andy.

You'll probably find that the pads are modified somewhat, if they are, maybe they need a bit more taking off!

The pads look original with no mods. All 4 are the same and look like a standard Mintex 1144 pad.

I've checked the Mintex website and the id number on the back of the pad MGB522 matches that of a Lotus Elite 1980 to 1982. Also, the picture of the pad shown with on the mintex website is identical to the pads Godspeed sent me, so I dont think Godspeed are modifying them.

Just to let you know, I've made contact with Ian and he's sorting things out for me.

Appears, I've been sent the pads from the 325mm kit and not the 308mm kit - doh!

Andy.
