I've just been ran off the road by some pr1ck. I managed to avoid hitting the t1t in the other car but scuffed one of my wheels on the kerb. Its about 6-8" long and right along the edge of the rim. It isnt really deep but it is enough to need attention.

Does anyone know if it can be repaired ?

How do they repair them ?

Does anyone know if there is anyone in the Warrington area who i could take it to ?

Should i have a full geometry check after its been repaired, just in case ?

Many thanks

Pete

Ring round some of the tyre dealers in your area. If they can't do it, they'll know who can.
And yes, I would get the geometry checked, and the sidewall of the tyre while you're at it. You don't want it to let go when you're having a "play" do you?

My girl had the same problem when driving last week, have it repaired with some sand paper and paint it with a touch up paint from Motip. The alignment should be ok, ever realised what sort of punishmet you give your car ?? That light touch should do it no harm, exept a cosmetic one... .
I told my girl to keep an eye for the crash drivers... Even if you are insured, there is always the risk of 'even damage' and every driver involved in a crash should pay for his own car then... Just mentioned that ...

Thanx for that everyone

Just to let you know, i took it to a place called pro-clean. I cant believe the chap there only charged me £20 to refurbish it.

I picked it up this morning and the guy said "If you can find where it was damaged, you can have it for free"

I couldnt find the damaged bit so i paid the 20 quid.

Well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question

Would that be the same Pro Clean in Prescot, Liverpool that advetise in the Autotrader? The reason I ask is I need all 4 of my wheels refurbishing due to the previous owner of my scooby leaving brake dust to settle on them £20 sounds like a bargain.

I'd recommend having your geometry checked for piece of mind as hitting a kerb at speed can knock it out quite a bit apparently. I used Pro Sport in Stockport to carry out the full 4 wheel alignment on mine a while back, it set me back £65.00 plus VAT. Their website is www.prosport.ltd.uk

Thumbs up

Alex

Yes it was Pro Clean of Prescott, they made a crackin job

£65.00 sounds good to me for geometry check. I'll take it next week. It does seem fine though, it doesnt pull anywhere but then it might not.

Cheers

Pete
