Why are 16's so much more than 215/45/17's which cost me £78 a corner all in from Scoobyworld and then a tenner to fit and balance them all at the local tyre centre?
I prefer them a lot more than the standard Pirelli rubber. Think I might plump for Goodyear F1 GSD3's next time just to see if they are all that everyone makes em out to be.
Simon.

The Proxes need some bedding in time first apparently so don't expect miracles straight away. I've notice that there's bags more grip in the wet than my P Zero's, but may be that's because they were on the way out when I changed them...
I think the 17"s are cheaper because they're more popular - first time I've ever heard of a manufacturer turning the supply and demand principle on it's head though!!!
Thinking about swapping my OEM Discs and Pads for Tarox Jap Sport - anyone heard any opinions?
Sorry for the Hi-Jack!!!

I'm going the other way !!
Fed up with the wear on my F1 Gsd3's,
The ouside and inside edges have gone in notime
but still 4mm in the middles
Had the alignment checked and all ok
Brilliant grip but not very impressed at the wear
Having some T1-s's fitted tommorrow

IMHO Toyos are miles better than the standard Bridgestones - in the wet the difference is unbelievable. Had to pump mine up a bit though to make them work properly. Below 34psi they feel like the sidewall's too soft and they move around a bit, probably due to the massively deep tread. I've found that they last quite well too, despite having a reputation for high-wear if used 'enthusiastically'.

I second Shanno_RB5 and hoonunit, comments are spot on with my experience of 215/40/17's.
i.e. Need some scrubbing in - tend to four wheel drift when new.
Need to be at least 34psi, I run mine at 36psi, otherwise car understeers easily.
Very good in the wet, they shed water like a duck, incredible at high speed.
Once bedded in stick to the tarmac like nothing else I have ever had.
Drawbacks
Not so good in snow and slush.
