These tyres are well rated on this forum but don't seem as good as other in tests.

Is it a case that these tyres are particularly good for our cars, or should I in fact consider the likes of Continental?

Thumbs up

Just had the Goodyears a week now and about 300 miles.

I plumped for them mainly after all the recommendations on here. It was a choice between them and the Toyos. But last week I got hold of the Evo mag tyre test. The Goodyears didnt top that many tests but it came out top overall because of the general feel and consistent performance, the testers really liked them. The Toyos placed third I think.

If I remember right, think they commented that the Contis seemed to lose their performance on the track after a few laps. I think they came second.

Now the snow has gone I am really impressed with the Goodyears performance on the wet and damp roads. Mind I did have some Hankook jobs on previously they had loads of tread but wet handling was cr@p. Its now like driving a completely different car, 10 x better.

Just shows you get what you pay for.
