Might sound like a stupid question, but does my car have ABS? It is a 94 wrx wagon. I have driven cars with ABS before and I know what it feels like, but my car has slid before and I have felt no pulsing.
So I thought no ABS, until I was going through the fuse box the other day and found a fuse marked ABS (not blown). Is this just put in as std, with the ABS as an option, or is my ABS not working?

Look under the bonnet behind the driver's side headlight - if you have a big brass-coloured block, you have abs, if you have a big space, no abs!!

If you dont get the ABS light when you start your car up then no, you dont have ABS

Tonyburns is right, there is an ABS light on the dash that comes on for a few seconds with the ignition lights if you have ABS.

Thanks guys, there is no light on the dashboard and I can't see anything near the headlight. Guess that confirmed what I first thought. Came as a bit of a shock when I first locked up! clouds of smoke everywhere. Was used to just planting the brake on the Rover.
