Right, I definitely need new pads now.

I've done 32k on them and they're almost finished. I'm not really that hard on brakes then, am I?

So I'm looking for an OEM replacement, which subaru tell me is 92 quid and I have heard is available for around 35 quid if you know where to go.

Question is: where?

Next question: is there anything for around 100 quid that will give me better pedal feel, particularly better initial bite?

Ta,

Nick.

Thumbs up

Nick,

I've just swapped over to Pagid discs and pads (blue pads) and am astonished to be able to say they bite much harder and quicker than my old setup.

Bearing in mind that my old setup was the 330mm Prodrive / Alcon kit this suddenly becomes more impressive!!

Pedal feel is great too, but admittedly, I have braided hoses.....

Nearly forgot - thats on a MY99 RB5 WR

This is exactly the position I am in, although 7k less miles (MY01), and I have been trying to ask exactly the same question. Ferodo 2500s and Pagid Fast Roads seem popular.

Nick,

32k miles

I run Mintex 1155s on mine - about £90 inc. VAT a set if you shop round. They warped the standard discs so I'm now running Bremsport Group N's - £107 ish inc VAT delivered for a pair from TAS http://www.tas.uk.com Only downside on 1155s is they create a fair bit of dust.

How are the Toyos wearing? I'm buying another set from MSW later this week...

Cheers,

Ian.

I use the Pagid Group N discs and RS 4 2 pads on my MY00 Prodrive saloon (with standard 16 inch alloys), vast improvement over the standard setup...plus the grooved discs look the part behind the wheel.
Understand that using the braided hoses also makes an improvement to pedal feel, but haven't got around to having them done

Gareth

Thanks very much for all this chaps, I can get OE quality for 50 quid, which I might do to tide me over for a few months and then change discs and pads.

Marvellous, thanks again!
