goodyear eagle nct75 vs bridgestone potenza re71
#1
just about to get 2 new rear tyres (205 55 r15 87v) for a 97 uk turbo , bridgestone potenza re71 or goodyear eagle ncts ???
has had only the b'stones on in the past as i think they were standard when new ?? think the back tyres did 55k !!? so good wear rate! not impressed in the wet though! will put the new tyres on the front and put the part worn front b'stones on the back!

The're both sh!te. In 16" the best are Goodyear F1's or Toyos.
However, you should never mix tread patterns on a car, particularly a performance car. 99.99% of the time you will be fine, but when you do hit reach the limit, one set will give up & break away whilst the other set still has grip. This transforms a nice progressive handling car into a snappy monster.
I learnt the hard way and will never risk it again for the sake of a couple of hundred quid.

thanks S55HOT , i realise about mixing brands (changing all 4 when only 2 are worn is costly though!) , which is why i was thinking of sticking with the potenza'a (were they standard spec on '97 uk turbos ?) but i've not been impressed with them , especially in the wet , at 1st i thought it may just be a scooby characteristic , as my last 4 cars were cossies and with yokohama's were much better in the wet! so i was thinking of switching to something better , so f1's or toyo's it is !
