Question

OK, I do NOT own an STi 7, wish I did though. However, being a curious sort, I wanted to know if anyone has upgraded the brembo's on them, and if so, what to? AP 4 or 6 pots? KAD? Hi-Spec? Godspeed? something else?

Anyone changed the discs, or pads? if so then what to?

What advantages did you see from upgrading from the brembos?

Also, have you upgraded the rears? don't suppose anyone has (if it's possible) upgraded the actual caliper on the rear from 2-pot (tis a 2 pot isn't it?) to something like an AP 4 pot? or would that be major overkill?

As said, just curious

Marcus, i have changed the fronts on my STi7 to AP 6pots, which i had left over from my MY01.
I had the Brembo's on the car for a few weeks after picking it up to see if the AP were worth fitting, obviously i thought they were but others are happy with the Brembo's , also had braided lines all round and Castrol SRF fluid done at the same time. The AP's i still think were worth every penny, no fade and so positive every time

you really need to think about this as the "brembo" caliper causes its own problems in extreme use (basically down to the depth of pad material causing a wide variation of disc temps across the disc), speak to any hard driving evo owner about their disc problems!!

true re evo 6 brakes, any e 6 will warp std discs,so i am sure sti 7 will do the same.i will be doing a few track days next year in my jdm 7 but not until i change the front discs.do ap have a two piece assembly yet?Not really gone to deeply into the potential problem yet but unless you only do 3 laps at at a time it will occur.PS need vent tubes feeding air onto them as well.

JW racing have replacement discs for the brembo setu on the Type Uk
one piece and two piece but the two piece ones seem very expensive, Both I believe are from DBA.
