Question

I own a P1 with Prodrive 18" alloys and it's now time to change the tyres. I've been running on Goodyear F1's size 225/35/18 but I find the ride very hard and there is alot of space under the wheel arch. I thought of putting the same size tyres back on, lowering the car and putting up with the bumps, but i don't really want to change the standard springs.
Shall I run higher profile tyres? If so, what size? and What is the ride and handling like?

The size to go for would be 215/45/18. Can't comment on the ride though.

as far as i no & presuming that woz correct size in 1st place, cant b arsed 2 check , but u cant change how much tyre u got 2 play with without toally fukin up yer speedo etc readings so if u want non lower profile then u need 17"ers or even less in reality Can swap with my 17"ers if u like

Especially on the classic scoob ie P1 you may find upping the tyre profile from 35 to 45 say will mean the tyre may rub the arches so becareful. Also if you lower the car this can have the same effect.

Cool

This is pretty good, dont know how accurate it is but it tells you the diameter diffs and how much your speedo will be out.

99% certain 215/45/18 will rub the arches you may get way with 40s but they maybe close esp. when people in the back

err the ride is supposed to be hard, it was set up like that by those nice chaps at Prodrive. Doesn't mean it's not compliant though and I didn't find it a problem.

If you have a big gap between the arches then there is something wrong with your car. Mine had about an inch from memory. Take a look at an STI7, now there is a BIG gap.

What tyre pressures are you using ?
