I have noticed (well Mark F did) tiny heat cracks on my discs. I have the 335mm Godspeed kit. Is such cracking something I should loose sleep over? I am monitoring them for propagation but am planning on doing a track day at the end of the month.

Steve

Question

I take it you purchased the drilled discs then?
These will eventually crack no matter who makes them (except Porsche who cast their discs with holes in).
Your best thing to do is give Ian a call to see what he says....

No they are the grooved only. I avoided the drilled for this very reason.

Steve, I have the same problem on my 325mm kit and after speaking to Ian he seeming more than happy to sort it out - apparently he'll only need the discs for about 2-3 days

Still, if thats how it goes then thats how it goes

These cracks are odd. They are more noticeable near the hub than on the face of the contact surface. Have they got worse Steve?

I have cast Porsche disks on mine - you still get tiny cracks around the holes....

Steve , if you drive hard or do track days you will get heat cracks , it doesn't matter what make they are , they will all do it ,
My rally car discs will have small heat cracks in them after 1 rally but I change them every 10 rallies or so , It is nothing to worry about , but the more track days you do just keep an eye on them , Cheers Ian
