not in my opinion!! what spec, you can have a FREE set for an early 2pot car if you wish - only used for testing then thrown in the corner of the workshop (mail me if you do - FREE to collect!!)
not much better than o.e. pad in lots of respects, spend a little more on Ferodo "ds" range or Pagid "rs" range for a truly STOPPING experience
mail or phone me for any advice 0191-4103770

I run the M1144's in my Godspeed 335mm kit and they are the best pads I have run. They stop from cold and hot and I have never had them fade on me yet and that includes 130 miles of Croft circuit in October. The wear after the track day was minimal too! I thought Ian Godney did the Mintex for £85?

Even EBC now tell us retailers that we should supply Red Stuff, not Green Stuff for the front of Scoobs. Green Stuff are fine on the rear and seem to work well. I'm fitting greens to the back of mine soon with black diamond combi discs.

Best to go with Mintex, Pagid or Ferodo on the front.

Fit Ferodo, Mintex or Pagid. Nothing else compares, whatever the colour. Or price. Good ain't cheap!

Tried redstuff on the front(EBC don't recommend green for such a 'heavy' car as the scoob). They were absolutely laughable. Got some Pagid blues off Alyn/Stockcar and love them to bits.

Guys I hear what you say, but this is for the Godspeed 335mm kit not std size disks!

I spoke to a couple of people about this when my Mintex wore out, I decided to try the Greens with my 335 kit.
You can get them for £58 (Jag XJS pads and modify them slightly)
You need to enlongate the holes by 2mm for them to fit (takes 5 mins a pad with a small round file) and saves you £40!!!!
That's all Godspeed do!

I assume the same can be done to the Mintex Jag pads.

I was happy with the Mintex 1144's though they never worked from cold and produced the most dust I've seen from a pad.

The greens are better from cold and I haven't found any problems with them so far (though due to the weather of late I haven't managed to push them).

I wouldn't recomend them for track use obviously, but due to the increased cooling of the bigger disk I think they would be fine for a Scoob esspecially over the winter

The Mintex only lasted me 6 months so I expect I'll be changing to something else in April/May time.

Dyney,

I used the Green Stuff on my car, and they lasted no longer than 10k's worth of driving. They faded an absolute shed load from about 5k onwards, and I'm now using the Mintex 1144's. I've done a 1000 odd plus on these so far, and apart from the squeal around town they are far better than the EBC's IMHO.

As for price, you can pick them up for around £75 all in and just elongate the holes yourself (as ScoobyJawa can back me up on )

I have used the Mintex pads in all sorts of situations, cold, warm, road blasts (of course sticking within the speed limits ), but not for track days and in all these situations the pads have been fine.

As things stand at the moment I would not put EBC's back on the car.

If you modify the pads yourself they have to be done right or the pads will rattle in the calipers if you make the holes too big , we modify them on our milling machine so they are the right dimensions , Cheers Ian

I have the godspeed 308mm kit first tried mintex 1144 & now have green stuff. The mintex are better at heavy braking but squeek around town. The green stuff pads don't squeek, but are not quite as good under heavy braking. So, if your the last of the late brakers or do track days go for mintex, if you drive at normal speeds and have the occasional blast go for the green stuff. Also less dust from the greenies.

Second that re the Redstuff - DO NOT USE THESE BRAKES ON THE FRONT OF A SCOOB - I speak from experience, they don't work from cold and fade when they get a little bit warm (used with EBC's own discs) all IMHO of course.
BTW - my reds lasted max 3.5k miles (all road use, no track)
