Differences Between 15 and 17 inch Wheels
#1
I read somewhere that lots of drivers stick to 15 inch wheels rather than 17 inch, as going to 17's loses acceleration. Why is this when, with the right tyre combination, the circumference is exactly the same?
Or am I being Mr Thickie, and missing something obvious?
My tyres are soon due for replacement, so now would be a good time to ditch the horrible (IMO) standard alloys.

Its to do with the rolling circumferance of the wheel, a 15 will make the car seem quicker (not!) and to be honest you wouldnt notice anything on the road except in the handling where the 17 inch wheel/tyre combination would be less flexable and give better stability over a 15 inch wheel (plus you can get much better brakes behind a 17 inch wheel than you can behind a rather small pathetic 15 inch one )
I went from a 16 to 17 inch wheel, the handling is noticable as the car doesnt squirm all over the road now (possably something to do with the better tyres on the car though ) and there is a slight but noticable improvement in the ride (it isnt actually that harsh )
17's all the way please
