Question re: New disks and mintex M1144 pads
#1
Hi there guys and girls.
I have noticied that since I got my 306 XSi back from a service that the brakes seem to lack stopping power compared to the old ones (same discs from new) They replaced all the discs and pads and used uprated mintex M1144 at their recommendation. I have beaded em in slowly and carefully but dont seem to have the braking power that I used to have. Is this normal at a pad/disc change ?

Stuey,
Slowly & carefully dos'nt come into it i'm afraid!
Long straight empty road, pref. not a motorway, and several emergency type stops from 'higher' speed.
You gotta get plenty heat into them to bed them in properly.!!!
good luck
Steve.

BUT, more importantly after you've got them nice & hot make sure you drive for around 5 miles without using the brakes (gently if you have to) - to allow the material to come back to ambient temp.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF BEDDING COMPETITION LININGS
