Has anyone tried a Godspeed 308mm Four Pot Conversions Kit?

I am looking to improve MY95 brakes and this looked a reasonable option for the price.

Im not looking for race performance brakes just something better than the standard ones and ones that are not going to cost a fortune so I have to take a second mortgage.

Any comments/experiences/thoughts on this or is there a better alternative.

Many Thanks Anthony

had these on the car B4 the APR 4-pots and they are actually very good in terms of performance and value for money.

Ian only supplies front S/S hoses with the kit - pay him more and get all 4!

calipers are originally of Jaguar XJS's and so are more than capable of stopping the Scoob!

Have a look at the later pages of this thread to see the 308 kit and my fitting advice.

The kit works extremely well, I've only just bedded them in and the stopping power is vastly improved, so much so that the rears now need (at least) better performing pads to address the forward shift in brake balance.
I decided on this kit because I do trackdays, now that I've got them on I can't wait for the next one That will be the real test, but judging by other people's opinion of them they are more than up to the job.

Interesting comment about the calipers above, the pads supplied with my kit fit the calipers of a Volvo 240. I believe the pads supplied with the 335 kit fit a Jag, but need to be slightly modified to fit the Subaru caliper.

My kit has still not turned up and its been 5 weeks since I ordered them My brakes needed changing before I ordered the kit as well - I told Ian this via email and he assured me I would get them within 2-3 weeks. Have to say if you are reading this Ian, your customer service has been verging on the invisible. It seems that once you get an order you cease all forms of communication. I'm sure you are busy, but replying to emails would be appreciated.

Have been told the kit was finished and depatched on Tuesday evening but still no sign of it. I hold my breath in anticipation and prepare to pass out ......

Thats the only problem with doing group buys sorry , as I have a large number of orders in at the same time someone has to wait , You were one of them , I did indeed speak to you tuesday saying the kit was on its way , If you hadn't had it yet all you had to do is call or email . There is no real need for the above is there ? If your not happy have your money back , Ian

Thanks for all the information.

Missed out on a group buy never mind, still a good price. I think I will wait a little while anyway until I have changed the wheels/tyres Lokking to get some 17's. Once that has happened I will get the kit to fit those wheels.

One question, If I understand it correctly the calipers are not subaru ones and need pads to match them. What happens once the provided ones are worn out do I have to come back to Godspeed for them or will they take standard replacments?

Many Thanks

Anthony.

Thanks for that Ian.

I will be ordering a kit from you in the not too distant future, just need to sort the larger wheels first.

Ian, it was not meant as an attack but more a general comment - I have emailed you twice and left a voice message once and you didn't get back to me on any occasion. The 2 times I have spoken to you were when you actually answered the phone. I am not one to rock the boat and am happy to wait, but I am worried about causing damage to my car and to myself the longer I have to drive around with shoddy brakes. I have had to rearrange fitting the brakes twice now due to them not arriving. I spoke to you last monday and you said that you were intending to send them out by thursday of last week. It was only when I rang again on Wednesday that you told me that they had only been despatched the day before.

I'm sure your intentions are excellent but keeping customers informed is just as important as a quality product. Many companies with excellent ideas have lost all goodwill they have with their clients due to poor customer service.

If you could call me on my mobile to let me know the delivery reference number, I can go about chasing up why it hasn't been delivered yet.

Hugh

Getting back to the subject of the thread, I had a set of godspeeds (with Pagid Blues) on my Type R/A and really regret not taking them off before I sold it.

I have tried several different set-ups but will be going back to godspeeds as soon as funds allow as nothing else gets close for the money.

The Godspeed kits come with Mintex pads are these the only make that will fit these disks/calipers.

My understanding is that Ian will only supply either the Mintex 1144 or Greenstuff V4 pads for the kit price. I inquired about mintex 1155 but was told he couldn't supply them.

No brake kit yet. Ian has contacted me to confirm the address he sent the kit to but have heard nothing since. I am looking forward to trying the brakes out myself, but don't know when this will be
