#2
Colin yes the breaker is correct it's a very easy upgrade, and what a differnce it will make.It will realy open up your choice of pads also,I have used several Pagid compounds & they have all been great.I am currently useing Pagid RS15 Grey in my 4 pots the best so far!!!

Colin,
Assuming you want to change to 4 pots off a later model Impreza then you'll also need to use the later model disks as they are 294 mm rather than 277 mm which is what your current set up will be.

You should be able to pick up a set of callipers, disks and pads for about £250-300.
The disk and calliper are a straight swop for the 2 pot ones.
As stated above, you will need the disk from the later car.
Make sure you have atleast 16" wheels as the 4 pots don't fit under the 15" std wheels!!!!!

Now I'm excited !
So I don't need to change hubs or anything?
Presumably the 4 pot calipers sit further out than the 2 pots to accomodate the larger discs?
The Scooby breaker quoted £45 per caliper and yes you're right John - I've got the bigger discs sitting in my cupboard
Sounds like a bargain upgrade.
Cheers

As far as I am aware, you should be fine with the gold STI 16" rims you have on the car now. No need to upgrade - although you could choose a better colour than gold

If gold wheels were good enough for McRae, Nymph, they're good enough for me !
Anyway how else are people going to tell that my 5 door is something a wee bit more special - oh, apart from the whopping great wings on the back
(Must learn how to do other smiley faces!)

Silver, are your discs standard turbo discs? If so i may be interested in taking them off your hands as i`m upgrading my 2.0 Sport brakes. I`m informed that they will fit mine. What kind of condition are they in?

The discs are almost new, Will, but I'm afraid that the breaker will only sell the 4 pots with discs and backing plates as a kit and the price is £350. Turns out an underling at the place was speaking out of turn when he said they were £45 each. So it looks like I'm sticking with what I have for now. Pity because I was wondering who would take my new discs off my hands. I'll sell you nice new ones for a good price though
That was a good link Dan - excellent detail
