Correct direction for the Grooves on Discs

Question

Somebody mentioned to me at the w/end that my brake discs are on the wrong way round as the grooves are facing the wrong direction. The kit I have is the Godspeed kit, and was fitted by Ian himself, and can be seen below:-

Anybody shed any light on to the different groove directions, and how they affect performance, pad wear, etc..?
