wooden brakes
#1
just bought a 94 wrx. very impressed with everything apart from the lack of any bite to the brakes. Is this just mine? How can I improve on them cheaply. Thanks

IIRC the 94 wrx has 2 pot brakes.
As a start, you could get some Suabru 4 pot calipers, and the discs and pads to go with them (or uprate them at the same time)
These can be sourced at reasonable cost in the ofr sale section, and they are an easy direct fit replacement, assuming you have at least 16" wheels with a decent amount of depth between the spokes and the brake discs. (some wheels don't work with the 4 pots, so be careful!)
Braided hoses & dot 5.1 fluid are another good upgrade.
I upgraded mine a fortnight ago to standard 4 pots (std discs and pads) (MY96 UK) and the brakes are significantly better.
