Hi,
I am just about to fit me set of Tarox 6 pots to the front of mt baby (no comments about the Tarox over the AP's please, would have bought AP's but these were a LOT cheaper at the time) and a thought occured to me. -
Can I put the existing standard 2 pot calipers and ventilated disc system from the front of the car straight onto the back ? or would it just be better to replace the solid rear discs with the front ventilated discs ??
Any thoughts, ideas or experiences greatly appreciated.

One other question if I leave it as standard at the rear am I likely to experience snaking from rear under heavy braking, as will then have Tarox 6's on front and standard 2's on back.

Cheers
Steve

You can't swap the fronts to the backs. You are unlikely to induce 'snaking'. If the back end feels wayward after fitting, just fit some slightly higher friction pads, e.g. Mintex 1155.

Don't bother the back end only does about 10% of the braking, just change the pads, it'll be fine. the other option is to fit the Legacy turbo / GT ventillated rear discs, which are a straight swap

Cool

Yeah so I heard Shunty !!

Too late to change now though, babies are going on Friday am, So I'll let you know just how crap they are after that

The topic about the dust seals is a worry, but surely if you maintain them correctly - like clean them occasionally ? maybe they will last.
Anyway, they can't be as ****e as the standard brakes that are fitted to my car at present, it was either buy these Tarox's or cut a hole in the floor and buy some titanium sole plated boots !

Cheers
Steve

I put same size discs on the rear, just slightly harder ones & better pads.
as JGriff said, hardly used on the back anyway.

have you got standard springs on btw ?

what year is your scoob ?
mine snaked really badly after having the brakes fitted, even under 50% braking. Got eibachs fitted & lowered by 30 mm....what a difference.
Got STI 6 suspension on now & full geom setup, that was another massive difference, but mine is MY95 UK so suspension was sh1te & old.
