MY00 Std Brake Pads
#1
Hello,
I need some new front brake pads for my MY00. Where can I get the cheapest standard Subaru ones from - and how much?
My local dealer (Triangle in Chesterfield) just quoted my £116 inc VAT which seems a lot??
And, what is the next best substitute pad that doesn't bugger my standard disks up?
Cheers
Robin..

Go for the Ferodo DS2500's, £130 from Falklands. Big improvement in feel and virtually no fade, on the road.
Ferodo also do a standard pad, available from motor factors for around £30 + VAT, worth a try.

For standard pads:
Ferodo Part number FDB986
(Strictly speaking, these are not listed for the Impreza in Ferodo's 2002 catalogue - they're for a Nissan 300ZX 3.0 - but they use the same backing plate and do fit.)
OR
BluePrint part number ADS74218
Mail me if you need more info.

Just had my front pads replaced again, and went for Mintex 1155, much better than std pads and cheeper with no brake fade, as yet. i got them from Questmead in Oldham/Rochdale delivered to my works address the next day. MYOO £78 inc vat and del. Tel 01706 860088 and ask for Alan or Julie, Also recommended by Mellow Yellow, hope this helps.

Yes, as well as fast road use, which is why i went for them, i explained to Alan the servere brake fade i was experencing with the std pads and after a lenthy conversion i decided to go for the 1155's, at the same time i had my disc,s changed under warrenty. So far no complaints apart from the brake dust they through off, Mind you, i don't think its anymore than the std pads. Just my 2pence worth.
