just got a screw in my rear n/s tyre roughly 10mm away from the wall, can it be repaired? If it cant do i need to get new tyres each side due to tyre wear,as i always remember when my mate had a caviler 4x4 the tread had to be within 6mm of each one or it buggered up the g/box?(tyres are goodyear f1's if its any help)

It will depend on the angle that the screw went in at. When it happened to me, I was unlucky 'cos the screw "pointed" outwards, and knackered the sidewall. You could be lucky, but the only sure fire way to tell is to take it to a tyre dealer you trust and ask them to have a look.
As for new tyres, you can replace just one if your tyres haven't much wear. If they're well worn, it's 2 I'm afraid.

thanks alkazar,2 tyre shops said it couldnt be repaired,i then tried ATS of all places and they couldnt repair it but they said they could send it away for repair and it would take a week,i said i couldnt wait that long so he told me where he would send it for repair.I took it there and as i write this now,its being vulcanised(i think thats what it is) and will be ready in the morning, and all for 10 squid!! What a result!!!!!!!!
