Question

Can anyone help with this query?

I am buying some 18" prodrive o.z. wheels which are fitted with 225 x 40 tyres. Will these rub on my 2000 (classic) impreza arches?
I have also fitted eibach lowering springs.

If these rub, what are my options?

Thanks

Richard

What tyres do you have on now? Some are more problematic than others - presumably different profiles even for supposedly the same size. IIRC people are often running fine with P Zeros or the Toyos then get problems if they change to F1's.

If the wheels touch inside the wheelarches, you will need to increase the ride height, ie change suspension.
If you only have lowering springs as I understand from your post, you have 3 options:
- put back the OEM springs
- get narrower tyres (or with a different sidewall design)
- get adjustable suspension (Bilstein, Koni, Cusco, KYB, Proflex, Öhlins, etc etc)

I had 225/35/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres on my MY99 and they rubbed on the drivers side rear arch when a person sat in the back. I then changed them to 215/35/18 Toyo T1 S and no probs at all, even with three people in the back.
