Cool

I gave them a real good hammering today, the first time in the dry since they've been on and they wre incredible. The stopping power was progresive and quick and tis was repeated on every stop with no noticable fade. Bring on the track!!!

I've got the 335mm grooved only conversion on my MY01 with Mintex M1144's, Castrol SFR fluid and Goodridge hoses.

Steve,
I'd have to agree with you

OK, so I've not had an AP/Brembo big brake kit, but this seems quite adequate for my needs.

Been on track as a pax in a car fitted with these (convinced me to buy) and it was definatly up to the job. Did as well as another car (P1) with AP 4's

Iain.

How did they avoid pad overhang on the outside diameter of the rotor with the O.E callipers? It Looks like the pads sit lower in the calliper.
I've heard of this type of upgrade but never seen a picture before.

We use a much bigger pad than the standard Subaru pad , that's why you can see more on the inside , The kits are £575 at present , But I am in contact with someone who is looking to organise another group buy , But this group buy will be restricted to 10 kits , Cheers Ian

Probably a good idea to restrict it to ten - I imagine the workload on the last huge one was a headache for everyone! Great to see that you didn't decide to rush it & keep the quality tip-top instead

And, while you're here Ian, I was wondering what the pads for you 4-pot 335mm kit actually usually fit? I have EBC DP2262 sitting here as you supplied, but I'm wondering what car/set-up they usually go on, just in case I try another (other than Mintex) manufacturer...

Nom ,Yes 10 kits at a time is a better idea after the last group buy ! I will never rush the kits , I would rather them be right and take a bit longer , It pays off in the long run , The Mintex part numbers are MGB585 , they are off some Jaguars , but we do have to modify them to fit the scooby calipers , so if you buy a set they will not fit straight in , but if you get them from us they are done ready to fit . Cheers Ian

Unhappy

I ordered a set of 335 discs and got them yesterday, but after looking at my wheels, 19" Diablos, it looks like they wont fit.
Has any fitted these to these wheels?

This could be just what I am looking for !
Can anyone confirm that they will fit my 17 inch OZ wheels or I am being a muppet??
If they'll fit I can wait a while for the group buy.
cheers

Ken

Fitted mine today to my RB5. It has 17" Prodrive(OZ) wheels as standard.

They are a tight fit but there is a few mm clearance from the wheel spokes and the calipers.

I am organising the group buy as my discs are completed knackered and in much need of renewal. As Ian has said he is limiting the group buy to 10 sets so with mine there will be 9 (ok so muppet maths but just in case). Ian has said he will reduce the price of kits assuming there are 10 by £50.
The standard prices are:
308mm with 4 pots £575 fit 16" wheel
325mm with 4 pots £676 fit 17" wheel
355mm with 4 pots £850 fit 18" wheel

delivery is £10.

For more details and pictures on the discs and pads supplied go to www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk The calipers come in your choice of colours and discs can be drilled, grooved or both. The prices on the site are lower but wrong, correct prices are as shown above with £50 off if we get 10. He can also do the 325mm kit without calipers (need to have subaru 4 pots fitted) for £575 less the discount again.
I have looked at prices for other kits and read peoples opinions of godspeed kits as well as the competitors and think they are excellent value for money and look great. I am waiting for Ian to email regarding how we will proceed with the orders but I am happy for anyone wanting the kit to email me direct when they have decided on size, grooves, drilled etc and colour of calipers and name and address. Once we have 10 intersted people I will email all the details to Ian and everyone can post their payment to Ian with their name to hopefully save him a lot of time. I will speak to Ian to confirm all of this shortly. Thanks for reading all this.

Marc (email as profile)

Edited to change payment method

Sorry, one slight mistake in the above, if you keep the subaru 4 pots the discs are 335mm NOT 325mm. Price is as stated.

Cheers

Question

Steve,
Would it be possible for you to measure the overall width of your brake calipers (fitted with brackets and discs) and the distance from the centre of the hub to the to the outer edge of the caliper, as I need find out what size of spacer I need to get.

Thanks for you help..

Cool

Mr Rocket,

I will measure (as best I can) the distance between the hub and each bolt hole on the Subaru caliper and the distance between each bolt hole. If you need any more dimensions, give me a shout.

Scoobyboy and anyone else who has read above sorry about the mistake, this is my first attempt at a group buy so please put up with my mistakes. I was unaware of Ian's payment types as I have only emailed him once, as he had mentioned the group buy I thought I'd better post and only had a price as am waiting for more info. Hadn't had confirmation on how Ian wanted to proceed with orders so sorry again about the payment mistake.
Thanks for everyones patience

Hurrah we are back on the air !!

Ricerocket , I have replied to your email , But if you have the subaru 4 pots under at least 17" wheels , our 335mm kit will fit ,So if you have the four pots under you 19" wheels and they dont hit the spokes , they will still clear with my kit on .

Marc , I have emailed you further details today ,

Cheers Ian

Mr. Rocket,

These measurements are only with a tape so may be a few mm out.

The largest radius from the hub to the caliper is 195mm

The caliper sits in the same position as the original, only further out. The spacer piece is 5 or 6mm wide so the caliper width of your car will be 6mm wider at the most after the conversion.

Hope this helps

RR - To add to steves details , the calipers have a 6mm spacer fitted but I make the face of the bell slightly thicker so the distance from the spokes to the calipers stays roughly the same .
Cheers Ian
