From underneath rubber grommet in the backplate.

Cheers is that on both sides , what about any slack on the cable

Yes leave cable alone till handbrake is adjusted.

The backplate adjustment adjusts the shoes. If however it’s the cable that is too loose the adjustment is at the handbrake lever. You’d need to remove the centre console to access the adjustment bolt/nut. But yes check the adjustment at the shoes first.
