Mine are squeaking loads and I've taken a look at the caliper assembly. Terrified of taking something off and a spring going flying past my ear never to be seen again.

Any advice, horror stories?

All I want to do is clean them up a bit and file off the leading edge

Cheers,

Simon

Simon, give me a call one evening this week, I have a friend that will probably help you do this or at least give some advice.

Cheers, Alex

Thumbs up

Simon

The MY01 (and probably the others, but I don't know for sure) calipers are perfectly standard and there is nothing to worry about when dismantling them. I know this from fitting a set of Godspeed 330 mm disks that required the calipers dismantling them.

Edited to add some advice rather than unhelpful comments like "it's easy". Buy some brake cleaner from Halfords (or wherever), put newspaper on the drive/garage floor, and use a small amount of anti-sieze to make getting the pins out next time. Depending on your driving style (are you a hard/late braker?) you might want to consider some uprated pads (available from all good Scooby suppliers).
