MY01 WRX Rear calipers

The rear calipers on the MY01 WRX are a twin pot type.
Are these brakes better than the sliding single pot type that I have on my MY00?
Will the later brakes fit in the MY00?

The twin pots will give a firmer pad contact on the rotors, eliminating the bracket flex from the single piston. The MY01 rotors are larger in diameter than the MY00. All the other dimensions are the same. Thickness, Offset, Handbrake ect.
