Hi all, a moment of your time and wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
I've just upgraded my rear brakes on my 95 classic to twin pots. The set I fitted was second hand but great condition pistons all free.
All went well fitted and bled fine. Have a good pedal and the car stops great but what I've noticed is the rear discs that had slight usual surfice rust does not clear like it does on the front discs (I don't get to use the car much). It's like the fronts bite harder than the rears. I was going backwards and forwards testing in the car park and the front discs get very hot where as the backs get warm / hot. Is this normal and the brakes work like 60/40 percent? Thanks

 

Normal enough back doesn't brake as much you have an oem brake bias valve.

 

What brakes do you have on the front?

 

I thought as much. I've been for a run and now the rear discs are shiny like the fronts.
I have the standard wrx up the front, They will be replaced for brembos.

You could remove the brake bias valve, as I have. Makes the car stop flatter and quicker.

 

Oh right cool, where is it located? Any parts required to bypass it?

 

Dont know if its any use for you but there is an ap brake bias controler in the traders for sale section

 

So, you've got 2 pot fronts, and you've fitted 2 pot rears? You're doing this the wrong way round.

 

I can't quite get my head around that. What's the theory?

 

Rear left piston was stuck on, planning on upgrading so the rears got done first.
