I am looking at some new wheels for my sti widetrack. 18 inch and 8.5 inch wide and et53. I am thinking that 225/40/18 may be a bit narrow for a 8.5 inch rim so thinking about 235 40 18.

Does anyone have any experience with this size of tyre and wheel? Is the tyre likely to rub anywhere?

The car is not lowered yet but I may do in the future.

235 will be fine on an 8.5 wheel and on standard suspension shouldn't rub at all

 

Would 255 be too big ?
