Default Sti hatch maf g/s on idle

Hi
Can anyone tell me what g/s my sti hatch 09 should read on the maf on idle? A mechanic plugged my car in to his reader earlier and he said the reading seemed low on idle, the reading was 3.7g/s
Thanks

just checking an old logfile here and I'm seeing between 2.9 and 3.87 g/s so 3.7g/s should be grand.

Hopefully the maf won't need replacing then. Thanks for the info.

wouldn't trust the idle reading to tell you if the MAF is good or not, ideally do a run on boost with the wideband hooked up and check that the actual fuel target is meeting the primary open loop fuel target from the MAP - that's the only way to be sure.

I'll check that at the weekend. The reason I'm doing this is coz I'm getting fluttering noise and the car seems to hold back on boost in 5th and 6th gear. Someone said it was compressor surge due to the cold weather, but it still did it when the weather warmed up a bit. Someone else said it could be the maf causing this.

what's your boost level looking like and are there any modifications to the car?

I don't know what it's boosting at. It's had a full forged rebuild, sc36 turbo, induction kit, sports cat, had a remap and I have a print out saying its 344 bhp. I was also told it may need mapping again but I don't want to pay out for a remap if it's just a sensor playing up.

if the turbo is sucking in more air than the engine can consume then you'll get some very strange sound effects from it - normally would happen if you have a full set of silicone intake pipes to go with the induction kit and it's not handling the colder temps too well (overshooting a tiny bit). Might be worth pinging the mapper to see if they could give it a quick onceover with the laptop - shouldn't be the same cost as a full remap to cast their eye over it.

It was remapped by scoobyclinic when the previous owner had the work done. I asked a mapper local to me if he'd give it the once over, he said he would only do a full remap and not a quick adjustment of boost etc. It has Perrin silicone intake pipes
