Brake upgrade
I've been looking for a set of Porsche gt3 calipers for a while now to no avail.
I got to wondering what are the better oem brakes those from the s205 which I think are the same as the gt3 or the Ap calipers from the Cs400

the large Porshe caliper is very ungainly IMO and i believe the reason it was originally chosen for Subaru upgrades was simply because at the time it was very cost effective.........it uses a 190mm long pad whereas the S205 caliper uses a 165mm pad
for reference the Alcon monoblock and AP Racing race spec calipers (cp5555/cp5070) are far neater and use pads approx 155mm (CS400 simply uses a lower spec road going cp7040 calliper with 150mm pad)

the Porshe caliper is fitted to single piece discs originally and therefore the bell / rotor interferes with the lower portion of the pad, we offer various manufacturer / material options and can easily machine to suit
always best to contact the office direct for specific queries

The Porsche calipers are made by Brembo , you can buy them from the dealer but aren't cheap .
We are now using the new AP CP9040 forged 6 pot calipers , uses the same pad as the cast 7040 calipers , pads in this shape are a lot cheaper than for the older 5555 and 5570 calipers , and the 9040 caliper is dust sealed for more reliability , this would be my choice of caliper to go for in the AP 6 pot range , they work out cheaper too.
I am putting together a 355mm G Hook disc kit with the 9040 6 pots today , so will put some pics up of them a bit later on
Cheers Ian

Yes , but AP are phasing them out now , the 7040's are a very good caliper , have used them for years , the 9040 uses the same seals , same sized pistons , same shape pad , but the caliper body is forged instead of cast so they can be made smaller.
The dust seals on the 7040 and 9040 calipers fully cover the pistons as they come out , the older design , the 5555 and 5570 calipers just have a scraper seal in the caliper bore , so offer no protection to the piston
The 330mm kit is £1499 and the 355mm kit is £1599
