Default k sports and no pedal - help please -

hey guy's

just bought a new car, 2001 bug wrx

it has d2/k sport 8 pots on front, with good discs and pads, and the oe one pots on back, again plenty of life.

problem is the pedal is near on the floor for any braking.

we have replaced all the fluid today and bled correctly, ive adjusted free play but the pedal is still terrible.

ive checked the one way valve to the manifold and thats fine, im thinking servo?

any ideas

cheers jake

Have you tested the brake servo?

Forget the servo if you can't get a solid pedal with the engine not running its something else. If your positive you've bled it correctly I'd be looking at the master cylinder. Or possibly a wheel bearing.

If you have a solid pedal at the top of the travel and you then hold your foot hard on the pedal it should drop when you start the engine. If it does and the pedal goes to the floor I would suspect that it needs bleeding again That has near enough tested the servo. When you stop the engine you should get 2 or 3 possibly 4 pumps on the peddle before it goes rock hard again.

sorted, both inside pads were siezed into the sliders due to corrosion, so the pads wouldnt move.

ended up with a set of new pads, a full strip down and clean and refit,

nightmare, but now i have brakes
