Default Brembo VS Tarrox

I am wondering peoples opinions on the above, as in which are better?

It seems to me that my brembos are pretty average on the sti but the tarrox are pretty good on my old wrx.

The only difference is the sti still has the stock brake lines and the wrx has braided ones. Or are the tarrox just considerably better than the brembos?

Should my brembos be better?

would suggest you have some sort of issue with your Brembos as the feel should be far better......

Oh really? I find them to be spongey and poor in comparison?

They aren't bad, just bad compared to the other setup.

A good service of the brakes is in order then because if they should be far better as you say they are way out!

A spongey pedal would usually be fluid , especially if it hasn't been changed in a while , the pads fitted would also make a big difference to how both setups compere , if you put cheap pads in a STi brembo setup they would be very poor in performance , changing just the pads in a kit makes a world of difference
I would say there shouldn't be much of a difference at all if you have like for like pads in each kit
Cheers Ian

I'm looking at tarox brakes all round off a local dealer, just waiting for a price back.

Change the fluid and lines

I think new pads are in order also then, what pads are recommended?

Also is it worth upgrading the disks?

Do braided lines have a significant improvement over stock or not worth it? Not sure how much difference they are making on my blob as I didn't ever have the stock lines fitted.

It just so happens I have a set of braided lines sitting in the boot of my old wrx as I thought it didn't have any

Have you also had Brembos?

If so what is your comparison?

the Tarox calipers and pad material choice is on the poor side IMO, discs are reasonable quality but there are better alternatives IMO
