Default Fitting O.Z. Chronos Queries

Hi all,

If answer to 5. is yes, ignore entire post.

I remembered today I have a set of the above wheels in the garage from my Celica days. They're relatively narrow @ 6.5jX17" 45ET. I test fitted them earlier and they foul the front caliper.

I'm still looking to get these fitted of course and now need to query a few things. They foul by only a few mm it seems so my first thought was to get universal spacers but then remembered any spacer that's not hub-centric will weaken the wheel/hub interface. That being said

1. would anyone recommend non hub-centric spacers with a small 5mm? increase? That brings me on to my next question
2. what mm spacer do I need to bring the wheels back to OEM with the O.Z. 45ET?
3. Is OEM best? The standard WRX wheels do sit in the arches somewhat. A wider stance may look a lot nicer, if so, what spcer would you get?
4. Does anyone know if I need spigot rings? 54.1mm centre bore as standard I believe? I will have to measure the centres on the O.Zs but see eBay do sell adapters for about £25.

I don't want to spend a fortune on getting these wheels on, 2 sets of these

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...nt-56-1mm-bore

from Demon Tweeks seem ok but I'll need extended studs aswell (for goodness sake)

5. How hard is it to fit extended studs? If they need pressing out/in the hub etc, I give up! that's just too much work..

Cheers all

p.s. I'll be getting these wheels refurbed as well so this could easily start adding up to more than it's worth

p.p.s I'll be replacing the tyres as the Federals are of an unknown age, Avon ZZ5s will be purchased @ 205 45 17 which equals (roughly) a -1.2% radius difference

Hi fella, probably far less hassle to sell the wheels and buy another set that'll bolt straight on. May work out just as cheap if not cheaper in the long run. Pop over onto the Welsh section, post up some pics of your car and say hello, we are a friendly bunch. Pop along to a meet if you fancy it??

cheers dude, yea you may well be right. don't see too many Chronos about though maybe. Shame as they're sitting there but as you say after all is done may not be cost effective. If anyone has any Chronos to fit, let me know!

There's a Welsh section on here? Well; who knew?

I'll go over now!

I had a set of these on an ST185 GT4 and they looked very nice. Have a look here for some inspiration on wheel choice.

I still have a soft spot for these, although the trouble my father had with his from the day it left the showroom then myself when I carried on ownership has put me off Toyota for life. I could make an exception for an AE86 though.

Hi bud

Cant really help with the hubcentric spacers part or spigot ring's.

Got a set of 18" Oz Chrono's 7J ET 48 on my classic. These fit over "Just" Alcon 4 pots as fitted to the original P1's. Should fit over the standard 4 Pot's quite easily.

Im looking at selling them as there not what i'm after for the car. After something like P1 Alloy's or Ultraleggera's again.

Feel free to give me a PM if interested bud, all brand spanking new tyre's not seen a mile

OK update to the above. Overall my ET with the spacers I'm looking to fit

http://www.tegiwaimports.com/tegiwa-...100-5x114.html

(15mm) will be ET30. This means the Chronos will stand out 12mm more than OEM. Does anyone know if the WRX arches can accommodate this? I will be fitting the Prodrive blue springs from PCA Dynamics which will give a slight drop (roughly 15-20mm).

Whether I go ahead with this will depend on the answer here of course. If anyone knows whether 12mm extra offset will fit without interference can you let me know please

Tyres fitted will be 205/45/17

Thanks again guys

No Worries bud, Same reason why i am looking for some 17's again.

Dont mind keeping them to be honest, 4 brand new tyres all round and they fit over the brake's so i can worry another time.

I had a 93 Celica Gt. If i still had it i would of bit your hand of for your old 16's. really nice wheel's.
