Default 330 rears on a classic

Anybody got 330mm discs fitted on the rear of their classic?
Went to fit some today and it looks like the discs are fouling on the backing plate of the hub.
Is it ok to run without the backing plate?

You can remove the stone guard , but not the backplate as that's what the caliper bolts to , what kit have you got ?

As ian says remove the stone guard(7 spot welds iirc),I fitted 290mm discs on the rear of mine and it was fine!

You can leave the stone guard in place and cut the lip off.

Ok thanks,may do that.....Is there any safety issues with removing these stone guards??
I may need to do the fronts too,they just bolt off so would be easier.

They are there to protect the back face of the disc so they can be removed but on my road car I wanted to keep them so just cut the lip off.
