Default Brake light help please

Hiya, first of all I'm a girl, so excuse me if I'm being a bit thick.

Two of my brake lights have stopped working, except the bootlid one. So I've bought bulbs (6), still wont work, checked fuses, even though the top one works, thought I'd still try, don't work. Tried the break sensor thing near the pedal. And sanded down the connections, but still doesn't work. My last resort is taking it to a garage but I thought I'd ask on here first.

Many thanks

Sarah

Oh I don't even know. Its a 2000 plate wagon, I think it was the last model before it went to the newer one. No idea what eyes it has lol

No probs! It's strange that both lights aren't working though. It's most likely gonna be a broken/damaged wire if the bulbs themselves are definitely ok. Double check the bulb holders aren't rusty where they touch the bulb base too. Mine were rusted to **** when I got my car. The tail lights are a weak point for water to get inside.
