Hello Everyone, I am writing this from the US but I will be moving to the Menwith Hill area, come August.

I'm a Subaru(and other cars) lover, I've owned a 2004 STi w/575 AWHP, but had my son so I sold it to get rid of the payments. I then picked up a very rare(in the US) JDM 1995 STi Type RA for alittle while and sold that. Currently just have the wife's car 2005 Legacy.

When I get there I am looking to pick up a 1994-2000 STi(impreza/wagon/forester), maybe 22b so I am asking for a recomendation on where to go/look for that when the time comes. I've been browsing the ads here and have seen a few nice one's so far as well as PistonHeads too.

Also any recommendations on where to live that's about 30mins or less from Menwith Hill is also something I'm looking for. I know Leeds is south, so if you recommend there could you be more specific exactly where you mean. I will have 1150 pounds a month for rent, 3bdrm,Garage & Detached home are a must.

be prepared for a culture shock, property over here is scarily expensive....
Harrogate is a nice place to live, but as you say Leeds will be cheaper, but further to drive to work and back obviously...

Hey everyone quick update, I'm now in Harrogate and what a journey it was getting over here with a small diversion to East Midlands and then a taxi ride(who got lost in Leeds instead of taking the loop) to the Leeds Airport luckily all my luggage made the trip with me. I was alittle disappointed to only see one blopeye on my taxi ride, wheres all the subys?

 

give it time fella you will see plenty,there is a meet at squires cafe (sherburn-in-elmet) next week on thursday night.

Welcome to the hill

There are about half a dozen scooby's on the base, mine being the oldest (MY00 T2000) and i spotted a brand new WRX STI last week (you contractors get too much money )
If ya wanna get in touch then you can PM me an email addy or something.... best not say anymore about our jobs on here eh but best let you know where I'll be on the hill.
Hope you get the motor you want and to see it on the base cruising at the 15mph limit
