bloomin health and safety!!
now i am trained in health and safety... but some people really take it to the max dont they?
in my job, i was offered the course to make sure people dont do stiupid things, like lift loads of equipment and pull their backs, trip over loose wiring, or even drink tippex (if they are that way inclined). all in all the training was ace, and i got a qualification for something that can be referred to as... COMMON SENSE!!!!
hence my disgust at the news recently about the schools being closed when it snows... one reason a councillor put over was because of health and safety, in case someone slips and falls
erm... WHAT??!?! surely falling over is part of growing up? doesnt it teach us not to go running full pelt over ice? i remember one particular flight of stairs at my old school that had a constant puddle at the top, come rain or shine, this puddle existed, and in winter it froze... now at the top of 30x odd concrete steps, it doesnt take much figuring out that there were often a few bodies lying at the bottom... did they close the school? NO!!!! they told you to (and i quote) "stop bloody whining, and get to your lesson". PAH.

aaaaargh!!!! rant over

Talking about health and safety i have a job monday tea time at 4pm at a certain plant. The workers are not allowed to cross the road to the car park for their cars so i have to pick them up at 4pm in a coach and go up the road round the round about and back opposite where i picked them up from and drop them off same goes for the morning.
