Can Anyone Help
Scott has taken car to work today and soon as went onto boost it started juddering violently, so changed upto 3rd and proceeded and soon as it went onto boost it started juddering again, it felt like it was going to run out of petrol but has plenty of fuel in......
parked up at work and checked for obvious, hoses coming loose etc, cant see a problem,
Started it again to go back out and now check engine light as come on and stayed on...
Seems to run fine when not on boost....
as anyone got any ideas what this might be if so can you give scott a ring....

Has he got a boost gauge ? is it over-boosting ?
He will have to check all the plumbing for cracks and splits, usually means pulling them off and flexing them whilst looking for damage. Or they can go hard and not seal properly.

I had the same thing not long after I got my car, it was the turbo up pipe that had split and as the engine moved under acceleration on boost it opened the split and I lost all boost, then it closes and it jumped for forward again.
Magnex turbo up pipe sorted it on mine. Has Scott had his changed?

sounds like the MAF sensor to me, i took my k&n panel filter out to clean it and when i went for a drive later the same happened to me, i was juddering when coming on boost then the engine warning light came on, i just played around with the sensor and it was fine, its worth a try before you take it to a garage.

Yeah that's the one !
Well spotted.... Doh !
Sadly I wouldn't recognise you but I'm the oldest "none mid-life crisis born again biker" around, in a Bug-eye Scoob-T....
Scott a twin scroll will need an exhaust to suit as they are different, adds more cost.... and mine would do for about 330 bhp if you stuck a FMIC on as well..... (snigger !)
YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO !
How did you get on with sorting the car ?
