I work upstairs in Empiredirect. Apparently the guy that crashed was racing someone in a P1 on Regent Street. The P1 did him before the roundabout so he tried to get back passed him then lost it. Spun into a lampost and flipped it over. Apparently they were pushing 100mph.

He was there getting pictures yesterday as the accident place are dealing with it. Seemed pleased with himself and was laughing about it. Car totalled and he walked away without even a scratch. I was told he'd only had it for a week or a month or summat.

An accident caused by complete stupidity. No sympathy for him whatsoever

lets not be too hasty to condem, I know a hell of a lot of Subaru drivers whom drive enthusiatically and play with other like minded drivers on the roads, lets hope it does not stop him hey!! nothing wrong with enjoying your car and speed.

This accident does not make him a complete jerk maybe just unlucky I binned mine over strines playing with friends as did Alan and some one else I lughed about my incident eventually, sometimes you just have to.

your far far to old and sensible for a young lad

Just have to add, we smile at our antics out in the countryside.....

We frown at the idea that Harehills is a suitable place for such antics....

Thing is Mick, I agree about enjoying the cars we drive etc BUT given that its Harehills and there is no country or open roads round there at all, it is pretty fair to say that this particular driver was been quite blatantly driven dangerous. This area and the surrounding areas are extremely densely populated areas, there is no where on these roads to overtake or even perform emergency manoeuvres.

Where as Strines is a country road that is out of the way, yes it has had its fair share of casualties but its fairly out of the way as in if you were to crash, theres little possibility of crashing into someone walking on the pavement etc.

We like to drive our cars but we actually know where and when is safe to do so, in this case, a built up area only 2 miles from the city centre definitely isn't it. I like to have a spirited drive every now and then but I also know my limitations and know my skill level at high speeds is realistically low so I have my fun within my own boundaries.

Theres alot of people out there that have no clue at just how bad a driver they are and they never realise it, its people like this that have these sort of accidents and think its great to have caused so much damage.

If you crash in the countryside, its fair to say that the only person to come off worse is yourself.

If you crash in an area such as Harehills, your more than likely going to seriously injure or kill people.

Whereas speeding (officially ) shouldn't be condoned, there is a time and place to have the fun....

Thing is

jump on the typical scooby driver in a built up area, good lord the amount of times I have seen this in our own club, with yours and my friends. I think its fair to say, i have never heard you or anyone condone this, but alas someone we/you dont know and there **** all of a sudden.

Just maybe this guy does not drive around like that all the time, but red mist and having fun in the early hours led to a disaster.

I once watched video footage of a complete *** lose control of his subaru car on a bend where a family could of been coming the other way, you get the drift, its so easy to condem without thinking I guess.
