Insurance groups?

Insurance groups?
A buddy from work has finally seen the light and is thinking of changing his very nice sierra cossie for a scoobie to use as a weekend blaster and occasional track day car. Does anyone know the insurance groups of the older type sti, the bugeye sti, the later type sti and the 2.5 sti?
Finally if someone knows the whereabouts of a car that may fit the bill please let me know, ideally he would like to px his cossie.

hi mate ,,imported cars are group 20 ,uk ones are 17

"From January 2007, the range of insurance groups will be expanded from 1 to 20, to 1 to 50. All vehicles that have a security "suffix", which covers the majority of cars from about 1996 on, will have been allocated an insurance group between 1 and 50. These new groups will be published alongside the 1 to 20 groups. The latter will continue to be published until further notice. "
