It's sad news indeed. He will be sorely missed as he really brought the rallying scene to us all. I remember when we first got Colin Mcrae rally in for psone people were going mad for it he truly shaped the minds of everyone around him.

RIP Colin you will live on in us all

I used to stand shivering in Dolby Forest waiting for his Dad to pepper me with stones, frozen to the spot at Harewood hill climb, back in the days of the proper Lombard RAC Rally of Great Britain. I only followed the early part of Colin and Alistairs careers as grown up life took my interests away and the rallies compacted into the current tour of 1/20 of the south west corner of Wales. Watched him on telly, along with Richard and was in awe of such prodigious talent. A true inspiration to anyone with an ounce of petrol in their veins, and will be sadly missed. Truly awful that his young son, his sons friend and another person should be lost too.

RIP and sympathies to all the families.

Default Hamsterley !

Yes Corradoboy, I stood in Dalby back in 1975/6 watching MKII's driven by (everybody )....
Mikkola, Vatenen, Rog Clark, etc.

Saw Audi Quattros hurled thro' Wykeham and best of all....

Night stage in Hamsterley forest, stood near a crest with my mates, the first cars barely lost traction as they passed.
Colin appear in the distance already flat-out and left the crest jumping eight feet in the air for nearly 30 yards the MOST awesome driving I've ever seen.

Dunx

P.S. on the in-car footage you couldn't see us as we were under the car
